The Bet Types
Available on all Australian racing markets, with Fair Price you can now get the best of the three major Australian totes and the on-course starting price, or the best on-course bookmaker fluctuation on every metro horse race, plus a great array of tote based products on all other codes every day, all through your Betfair account. Betfair Fair Price is provided by Sports Alive Pty Ltd.
Fair Price features the following bet types:
- Fair Div pays the highest of the three Australian TAB dividends and the on-course starting price on all Win bets on metro thoroughbreds. For non-metro thoroughbreds plus greyhounds and harness, Fair Div Win and Each Way bets are paid at a great dividend based on the three Australian totes, with full details in the table below.
- Fair Div* pays you the SuperTab dividend plus 5% on all Place bets and selected Win bets where Fair Div is unavailable.
- Fair Fluc bets are guaranteed to be paid at the top official on-course bookmaker fluctuation as determined by the Bookmakers Pricing Service (BPS). These prices are broadcast as the best official odds from the on-course bookmakers. Fair Fluc Place bets are paid as the best of the three Australian TAB dividends.

- Best Tote (30% cap) is calculated by using the following formula: SUPER TAB DIVIDEND minus ONE multiplied by 130% plus ONE or (((STAB DIV - 1) x 130%) + 1)
- Best Tote (10% cap) is calculated by using the following formula - SUPER TAB DIVIDEND minus ONE multiplied by 110% plus ONE or (((STAB DIV - 1) x 110%) + 1)
- Super Tab +5% is calculated by using the following formula - SUPER TAB DIVIDEND minus ONE multiplied by 105% plus ONE or (((STAB DIV - 1) x 105%) + 1)
- # Fair Fluc pays Best APN (Course Price) on all Sydney, Melbourne and nominated interstate carnival meetings, and Best APN (Course Price) for all Adelaide, Brisbane and Perth Saturday meetings

Number of places paid may differ from Betfair Exchange markets.
- Different limits will apply dependant on the venue/quality of the race meeting and the size of the on-course bookies ring.
- Selected meetings may not have a fixed odds service dependant on the venue/quality of the race meeting and the number of bookmakers working in the on-course betting ring.
- Sports Alive reserves the right to alter any dividend based on more than two TAB dividends if we have reason to believe a tote price(s) has been artificially manipulated by greater than 30% of the next best tote price.
- The number of place dividends payable is dependent on the number of runners.
- If a late scratching(s) results in UNiTAB paying a lower number of place dividends than the other two tote pools, the place portion of bets will be paid at the best tote dividend declared by NSWTAB or SuperTAB (excluding UNiTAB).
